What is AgroMuda-i about?
AgroMuda-i is a savings account, offered by Agrobank as a way for you to get ahead and start your child on the path to proper money management at a young age. The account is specially designed to cultivate savings habits in both you and your child before they take over the account.
How do I open the account?
There are 2 types of accounts you can open, both are Trust Accounts, but one is managed by parents or guardians, and the other is managed by the child, or trustee. Trust Accounts managed by either parent of guardians are meant for your kids under the age of 12. You can even start the account after they are a day old.
After the age of 12, your child will have control of the account, and if they already are, then you can open up the trust account suitable for them. The account will be active all the way to their 18th birthday, unless you’ve decided otherwise.
What do I need for this account?
You will need to have your identification on you for the application process along with a copy of your child’s NRIC or birth certificate. The minimum deposit required by Agrobank for the opening of this account is only RM5.
On top of that, to keep your account active at all times, you will simply need to maintain a minimum balance of RM10.
What do I get with this account?
You will be issued a passbook for both types accounts in the case of application. For accounts opened for your child over the age of 12, they will receive a Agro Visa Debit Card-i to allow withdrawals and cash transactions at the counter.
